The total attendances recorded during the year show fairly substantial reduotiɔn over the fiare for 1948 for two
reasons :
(a) The administration of liver and vitamin injections
was discontinued early in the year.
(b) The diagnostia scheme was streamlined to curtail the number of visits made by cach patient before disposal.
On the other hand the number of first visits ins risen hy 36 parcent, the princi al increase being among voluntary attomiers, while the percentage of these found to be suffering from active disease has fallen from 23 to 18, due no doubt to the publicity received by the clinic during the year and the increasing use neue of it by the public. The details of diagnoses are as follows :
